I recently bought this lamp on a Swedish auction site. It was what we call, "a pig in the sack". The images was bad and didn't show what is actually was. But it was a descent "buy it now" price so I went for it. I have browsed to see if I can find out what is is but no success. My guess is that it is a Ditmar but it is totally anonymous, no markings at all. The ventilator is a bit special. Made of aluminium an fitted witn bayounet coupling. The inner hood is fixed with a pair of flaps. As you can see, the glass is of "India design". One funny thig is the small steel sheet piece at the the rim of the glass fram to prevent glass from flames when per-heating the lamp I guess. Any information is appreciated. Bo
That’s a Hungarian lamp @Bo Ryman I’ve got two here I’ll post a pic if I haven’t already put it on the forum. @Mackburner also has at least one of these. When I bought mine, the seller had loads of them, mostly missing the aluminium vents, so it’s nice that yours has it. Here are a couple of examples, I haven’t found mine yet though. Hungary : lamp type Szeged Hungary Szeged lantern Found mine. Just got these two home.
Yes , a Hoda'cs Szeged. I own one of those too. Hoda'cs Szeged - Pelam.de Forum A very quiet 300cp kerosene lantern. Fount identical to Ditmar xyz
Ditmar is about right. They do look like Ditmar copies. Yes I do have one. On mine the whole handle, globe cage and hood are aluminium. Works OK and I think it is shown in the gallery. I know nothing about this brand except what is stamped on them. So Hungarian for sure but I have no more information on the brand or the company. If anyone knows more than I do then please let me know. ::Neil::
