Translation help required please...

    I presume underneath the word 'Railway' there's something else written in a foreign language (my best guess would be Arabic but it could be something entirely different). Can anyone shed any light here? Many thanks in advance...

    I think Arabic might be correct. Or Persian. They look very similar, and when it comes to the word train (which is what it looks like on your whistle), it's apparently the same look on both languages.
    So my unprofessional guess is that it's the word "Train" -
    قطار you got there. Probably in Arabic, but possibly in Persian.

    Google Translate comes up with it as 'Train' in Persian.

    Yes, both in Persian and Arabic, as I explained above...
