That Russian roarer.... any chance of a closer look without the flame 'sleeve' on?

...and whenever I see the brand 'Thermidor' written down I always think of Lobster Thermidor!

This is extremely interesting! May I ask where you get those roarer burners from, a couple of those might help me resurrect one of my stoves.

It's a Primus 744. As you can see, someone has replaced two of the 'rocket roarer burners with silent ones! God knows why they did this, it makes no sense that I can see. Anyway, I'm looking for a couple of burners to replace the ones that were removed so I can get the old girl going again. I'm not sure what thread pitch these are and I haven't tried removing the silent burners yet - I haven't even bothered to straighten them out! Do you have any spares?

Hi Colin I have what you need one of the burners is a optimus that I converted into a roarer to suit as the Russian burners are hard to find ,both are working fine

    That's amazing!

OK then, assuming you don't want to give them away (I wish!) what would you want for the pair? As an alternative to money, is there anything I could exchange for them? Stove wise I don't have much as I only have one each of the models I like but I have a few spare lanterns that might be in the frame: Tilley's, Bialaddins, Colemans for instance.

    What do you think?
