That's a Coleman Arc considered by many Coleman collectors to be the holy grail. The pickers sold it to a well known Coleman collector. They barely broke even if I remember correctly.
I think they might have actually lost money on it. I don't think they're as rare as it they were once thought to be and that might have an effect on prices in the future.
The collector who bought it was the one they called for an appraisal. Apparently they misunderstood and thought his retail estimate was the price they should pay for it. He bought it from them because he felt bad they had misunderstood the info he gave them.
I've bought and sold them-- but can't afford to have that much money sitting in my collection--- so Ibuilt my own-- quicklite font-- goldfish bowl and stainless mixing bowl from thrift shop ,valving from a dead 220- ~~ took a week to fabricate the burner though ~~~~~~~
