I have a Vapalux M320 that I simply can not get to burn rite. I seems that the flame refuses to burn inside the mantel. I have followed the instuctions closely, and the lantern is complete, clean, and seems in good repair. The generator seems to be vaporizing the fuel since the it burns without soot or any black smoke. Just clean burning flame around the out side of the mantel, and very little light. Any Ideas? Rick
Hi Rick, I find that removing the vapourising tube, taking the needle out, gently cleaning off any carbon deposits on the needle with very fine wire wool, and then cleaning the tube by application of heat from a blow torch normally works. Get the tube hot to the just beginning to glow red point and then quench in cold water. Tap out any loose carbon on a hard wood block, then repeat until no more loose carbon sooty deposits appear. This has worked for me many, many times. If it does not work, you need a new vapouriser tube. Let us know how you get on. Regards Steve
Check the burner. I have seen them with metal swarf inside which destroys the gas flow. Also recently we found a similar burner where the venturi tube was touching the inside of the dome. Won't work like that so take the dome of and see if the venturi is loose inside the burner. ::Neil::
Checked the burner it looks OK. Cleaned up the the vaporizer, and looks as though someone else had tryed the same thing. I presurized the tank with only the vaporizer installed. The streem from the end af the vaporizer tube came off at an angle and was kind of messy even after attemps to clean it. My geuss is a knew vaporizer will fix it up. Good thing they are back in production. One is currently in transit from I would assume Korea. I'll let you konw how it goes. Rick

Good to hear. So often the cure is the simple solution. Mind you it is not always obvious. Easy for me because with a large collection I can swap parts around between lamps to find the problem. No so simple if you only have one lamp to play with. The answer is of course to buy more lamps. ::Neil::
