Ive found someone with a complete coleman 242B lantern. never had much to do with colemans and intend to restore it if i purchase it. Looks like its got a bit of rust starting through the nickel plating on the tank. Its canadian made, got the sunshine coleman logo, so have no idea on date. Its also got a pale green enamelled hood, not the typicall darker coleman green you see. Its in fairly good shape but has some chips and rust. Will consider re-enamelling the hood if i can match the correct colour. I know people dont give valuations here, but what is the most you should typically pay for finding one in this condition? Is it worth restoring these, or clean up and continue to use in its original condition? I know the main downside with colemans is they used steel tanks that would rust, whereas tilleys were brass, and seem to have stood up better over the years.

Parts are readily available from Old Coleman Parts (OCP), If it's nickel it should have a brass fount with steel bottom plate. Your vent may be a color Coleman called Seafoam - between green and turquoise. Go to Coleman Collector's Forum and use the search feature on seafoam Plenty of examples to check against. I believe seafoam was a Canadian color only.
