Tilley control cock identification

I can recognise the difference between the Tilley XN and GF control cocks, but whilst studying a few today I’ve come across several variants, even within my own modest collection. Clearly there were detail changes down the years! For example, I have two identical control cocks, one with a plastic knob with brass threaded insert, and one with a solid brass threaded knob. Then I have some brass control cocks with threaded knobs, but have seen pictures of the same control cock with the current push-on knob.

Can anyone please expand on the type and age of the devices pictured below? Thanks!

Oh, thanks very much Tony. So the ones in my pictures are all GF types then. I don’t own a lamp old enough to have an XN cock.

Hello Phil, many Tilley lamps etc., turn up with the GF., control cock fitted, but sometimes those are replacements, so it's best to check the depth of the control cock socket, the socket for the XN., control cock is deeper.
