Are you having an insect problem there in Germany, Willi?
Even out here in deepest darkest Africa I have not yet needed one.

 

Indoors no need for insect shield. Outdoors , yes you need one.
Too many insects being attracted from the light in the dark.
Mantles would not survive 30 minutes.

 

Yes, I use my table lamps indoors only and lanterns outside.

 

Willi, that insect guard is really nice. Did you make it yourself?

 

Yes, the hex metal can easily be cut with a pair of metal scissors.
The glass globe is from an unleaded1 Coleman lantern.
