Firstly big hi to everybody on the forum another newbie here..:p

I have a couple of Aladdin 21’s and been using Pure Bright indoor lamp oil with bright warm results but the lamps are very thirsty which is very expensive. So can I use that Caldo Paraffin Extra which is far cheaper has anyone used it or is there other fuels better for Aladdin lamps cheers

Try any paraffin/kerosene you can get! Once it has the tag "Lamp Oil" that will push up the price.
28sec heating oil will work perfectly well as will Barbecue Lighting Fluid in many cases .

What you will use you have to decide for yourself - do I like how it burns?
Do I like how it smells?
That is up to you. Good Luck.

My Aladdins are my only lamps which will burn anything scent free - even diesel!

I agree, get the least expensive safe stuff you can and burn it happily.

Note: Diesel burned without scent, but wouldn't wick up fast enough to support a full flame and left deposits on the wick much more quickly than kero. Use at your own risk.

If you're not too far from a fuel supplier, give them a call and ask if they sell paraffin at the pump. It's usually a lot cheaper than pre-packed stuff.

G'day @DarkWispa and welcome to CPL.
Smell is often the decider as to what is acceptable. ](*,)
    Nice looking Aladdins .

I can't think about Diesel for this use...
Are you quite sure about that?

Thanks for all your reply’s I wouldn’t like to use Diesel indoors especially the bedroom that doesn’t seem a good idea. I think I will give try Caldo Paraffin Extra a try

I wasn't advocating the regular use of diesel(there were extenuating circumstances at the time), just illustrating how un-picky Alladins are as far as fuels and smell. Any kero/paraffin will work fine.

I use barbeque lighting fluid for my lamps.
Mainly the pressurelamps, but it works well in my Aladdins too.
It's the cheapest fuel I can get for my paraffinapparatus, and it burns clean.

NICE Aladdin! I just got into Aladdins recently and found them to be very enjoyable to use. I use only Kerosene in mine and found it to be just fine. Funny how this lantern hobby winds around and drags other light producing devices into our worlds...

Hi @a10egress non on the bay there are some sites that will ship to the UK but postage plus import tax adds up to the price of the lamp crazy it probably be cheaper flying to the US for a weekend and picking one up lol
