I was gifted this by a very kind friend from the States and I'm extremely happy! I absolutey love small red Colemans but they're not so common in the UK (were they ever on sale here?)

It's marked 1 68 on the base so do I assume it was made in Jan 1968? Anyway, I can't get it going yet as it hasn't got a jamb nut but one is on it's way, then I can fire her up and post some action shots.

    Just so happy with it!

Thanks Norman, your 'care package' will be on it's way soon, I promise.

    Nicely done! Great little lanterns.

The 200 takes to kero conversion quite nicely, if so inclined.

As soon as I have the jamb nut it will be converted to Kero. I have to say it's one of the prettiest little lamps I own!

Yes they were sold here but they are gasoline lanterns so never as popular as the kero version which was the green 201. ::Neil::

I have a 201 and it's lovely but the red 200 is way more pretty!

That's a sweet one! I have somewhere between 20 and 25 of them now, roughly evenly mixed between 200's and 200A's. They're great runners. Only recently have I been able to say no to more of them.

Assuming that's a Made In China globe, due to the white lettering, you can remove that lettering from the globe if you like. I don't like the MIC because it's so in-your-face, and the model number on that globe isn't even a model number that Coleman uses for it. I masked off the Coleman logo and used Mother's (brand) Mag and aluminum polish with a soft cloth. Perhaps you have Mother's or something similar to it. It takes about 20 minutes to remove a section, so you'll want to do this while distracted, such as watching TV.

I have a 200a which, like you say is a beautiful little lamp although I am keeping mine with original generator and running it on panel wipe.

A fine acquisition, Colin! The Little Red Lantern is an American classic.

They are one of my favorite lanterns. I have both the kero conversions and CF ones. While the kero's take longer to light, they are quieter, burn a shade brighter, and run longer on a tank. Kero his also a lot cheaper. IMG_0866.jpg
