Good Day I would appreciate if you could weigh in on identifying this lantern. It is the only pic I have, but I bought it regardless. While I am waiting for delivery, I am curios to know what it is. Hopefully not a pig in a poke. Kind regards Johan
Hallo Johan. I'd be happy taking a bet on that and calling it a Hipolito. The color of the eccentric wheel is a good indicator. Keep us updated, it looks to be a nice little lantern. Wens sterkte!
I will guess an everbright. Valve wheel looks like the one I have as the inscription of the filler cap looks the same as well. The picture is a bit fuzzy so I could be wrong.
First thing that came up in my mind was "Chinese copy". Could be wrong. Anyways, some of these are (almost) as good as the originals. Best regards, Wim
My delivery came and I had a quick peak.... Well spotted Andrew! A brass founted Everbright. I will post photos this evening. I am definitely not averse to good Far Eastern copies when they cross my path. Another upside to this is that I can still look forward to finding my first Hipolito. Also in the box was a Tilley Guardsman and a Petromax 523 500CP.
@eiremax, I have posted pics of the 523 in the lamp reference galery, thanks for the interest. As far as the lamp under discussion, I attach photos of it. The mods are welcome to change the thread title to Everbright to prevent confusion please.
The Everbright is of a fairly good quality and should shine up well when polished. I would not mind finding another one.
