Hi All, I wandered into a newly opened antique place near to me and they had a Tilley PL53 in there. It needed a good clean and was minus its globe and wire cage. They wanted £45 for it so I left it as I wanted to get people's thoughts on it. Are they relatively hard to come by these days and is the price round about right for it? Can yu pick up the globe reasonably easily? I don't own one so have nothing to go on.
It depends on which period of PL-53 it is, the first link below shows a fairly early example and the second link shows several examples from different periods. The cages and globes are often listed on Ebay UK.. PL52, with a plated hood. PL52-PL53-PL54
