Hey everyone, I saw this jar during a visit to a museum. The jar, made by Weck, is either made to fit or was specially manufactured for this purpose. Weck preserving jars are a way to preserve and store food. Also known as "preserving" in everyday language. The embossing indicates that the jar is very old. Best regards
