Just bought this Tilley bracket lamp yesterday !! I will hopefully have it in a few weeks and then looking forward to getting it going !! Doing a Google search it looks like there are three possible models it could be as well, can anyone positively identify the model for me?

The earliest that design can be is 1940, but in my opinion, your lamp is from 1953 to 1955, unless there is a date code stamped on the base plate of the tank.

    It’s a WL25.

    Edit: Crossed with @JEFF JOHNSON.

The gallery is post 1945; the tank stamping would make me agree with Jeff.

    Cheers

Arrived today along with a Handi.
Assembled her and did a little bit of checking. It pumps up, holds pressure, and passes air through the vaporizer and the tip cleaner works. Over the weekend I will clean it up a little bit and get it running. Should there be a washer of some sort in between the tank and the swan neck?

    Nice :thumbup::thumbup:

with the swan neck off have a look in the tank where it fits.. there should be a lead washer (or the remains of one) you could check carefully with a small screwdriver
you could make one out of some lead sheet or flashing with some wad punches
Base camp stoves over here do have them but it’s a long way for a single washer

edit ; you might be ok with a viton washer.. worth a go

I will have a look this evening or Sunday. I do have some lead washers in my parts so if I do need one I'll see what I have to make something work

She came to life this evening!
Changed the rubber seals, I came up with a lead washer for in between the tank and gooseneck, also oiled the pump and replaced the pip in the NRV. I put the Coleman 306 shade on just for fun. I'll work on getting a couple of reproduction or original outer shades for it at a later date.

Where did you find it and the Handi, @William G?

The US shade looks good on it, too.

    Cheers

    Tony,

Bracket lamp came from the UK on eBay. Handi came from my friend Andrew in Tasmania. He was sending a couple of things to my friend Kevin in Idaho and there was one space left in Kevin's box so it saved me a bunch on shipping.

Tony I was able to figure out what you said to me lol! I ended up ordering a proper shade for it last night as well from eBay from the UK. I also ended up ordering some more double tie mantles as I'm very low on stock also ordered some more Tilley washers.

Hello William, if I recall correctly Tilley started to use date codes sometime in 1956.

Thanks Jeff. I'm giving it another good run now. I also this afternoon was able to put in a new fuel cap/pump washer and a new washer for the control cock shaft. I also took and fired up the Handi from Andrew!
