The jet for this 900 Petromax 900 “Baby” was badly worn, I could fit a 0.31mm diameter wire through the jet. I decided to re sleeve the jet with a 31Gauge hypodermic needle (nominal inside diameter 0.133 mm). The proper jet size is 0.12mm diameter.

In this post Worn jet, hypodermic needle insert @presscall noted that a 31 gauge hypodermic needle was required. Thanks John for saving me a lot of time and trouble.

The nominal outside diameter of the 31G needle is 0.26 mm. The needle just fell through the jet. I had to swell the brass to reduce the oversize jet.

Needle in place with flux and filings of 5% silver braise in place. It’s ready to apply the heat.

Removed the excess needle and cleaned up the surface with 1000 wet’n’dry.

Unfortunately the needle slipped slightly during braising (due to the sloppy fit) and stopped the pricker needle entering the jet. I used a set of these diamond mini grinders to fix the problem.

    All good now.

@ROBBO55 Excellent! The jet was certainly worn, but not any more with the stainless steel insert. Glad the technique worked.

Thanks John. Working with such a fine needle was certainly challenging :-k

Thanks @Rustytank , but the credit for the concept has to go to @presscall who pioneered and shared the procedure.
