    Some sort of Bialaddin on Bargain Hunt. They were looking at the Goblin TeaMaid rather than the lantern though.

    A late '50s X246 Guardsman on Digging for Britain. I was surprised to see a paraffin pressure lantern presumably still in general use in 2025 - well done them!

    Nice archeological tv program. Which particular number or series or title would those be in? I can't really see the mantles being attached on those lanterns. Would be rather hard for me to believe any of those still being in general use today. I mean for genuine general illumination use (true workhorse) by someone who does not have the slightest interest on such pressure lamps...

    One of the current series of DfB over here showing finds in the northern half of the UK - try iPlayer. The clip shown was filmed in south-east Scotland. That lantern certainly seem fitted with a mantle as does the Bialaddin. The Vera and Shetland ones would have been incidental filming props in all likelihood with no need for them to emit light...
