Tilley Table Lamp

    I am restoring a Tilley Table Lamp (circa 1950). Does it take the 5 inch or 7 inch vaporiser; or can it use either?

    I don't think it makes any difference. I prefer the 7 inch vapouriser as with the 5 inch getting the preheater torch under the glass can be a tight fit.

    Either will fit and perform as Tilley intended - the idea was that you could tailor the height of the lamp to suit your individual taste or circumstances...

    Tilley Table lamps after 1945 were all supplied with the 606 5" vaporiser as standard. Most folk prefer the longer 169 though because it makes the lamps look better and they are easier to pre heat. ::Neil::
