Hi fellas , for the Tilley men, what maybe the true story behind the x246 pork pie with the brown hood. Were they an export model, are they in any sales advert or brochures? This is my 2nd find in the wild, I was going to leave it as original but I thought it might need a bit of a tidy up. It looks very grand
As far as I know, the last of the Tilley X-246 Pork Pie lanterns were marketed with brown hoods, but I do not recall seeing any paperwork on the subject.
As Jeff says, received wisdom is that these are the transition from the pork pie to the first Guardsman x246's and they're not that common. Nice to find!
