Posting this lamp on here as it should be documented on here its a seriously rare IL31 I do not own the lamp but got chance to fettle it and its now in running order tho has a mind of its own every time you light it Not fettled a lamp for some time and this was a challenge total rebuild of the vapouriser but when it runs right its a sweet lamp looks great with the vitrosil globe some pictures are from mick from a previous post I can no longer find but here they are again cheers pete
Excellent work Pete, great to see the old girl running. Now I know where to bring mine... when I find one.
You wish Matt I very nearly admitted defeat with this lamp but when it lit it was so worth while Cheers pete
@pete sav Great fettle of a rare and beautiful lamp. I love the advert where it states a 2/- (shillings) allowance on returned working but, carbonised vaporisers. This is a very English thing. Regards Jeremy
Thanks for all the posts lads Yes a truly rare lamp most people will never see one tho we hope to have it lit at Newark next year for folk to see. Rare is a word I see often on this site but used for hard to obtain stuff not like this piece I would say is really rare unobtainable really none have survived to collect Glad some of you at least saw the photos Cheers pete
Good Day Can you please comment on which fuel this lamp runs on? I ask because the pamphlet refers to oil. Regards Johan
@JohanOptimus The “oil” would be kerosine (paraffin). See here for the interchangeable use of “oil” and “paraffin”: https://classicpressurelamps.com/threads/1925-list-no17-r1-heater.2396/ Cheers Tony
