This is the only pressure lamp I own. I love it I think because of the Art Deco type design and the font configuration. I think this is an early one since it has the slots in the gallery vice the holes. So probably early 1950's The globe is a T805 so it is not original. The original was the T5 globe which is almost impossible to find. The T20 lamp came along about 1957, and marked the end for the T10.
Nice lamp @george I've been looking for a good T10 for a year or more now ....... perhaps one day the deity of the lamps will shine upon me. Enjoy Pete
A real looker-of-a-lamp, and in such nice original condition: congratulations George! I think this goes for many an item, that the beauty is seen only by those who posess the outlook, and this model seems to attract very distinct preferences. You either like'm or you dont. Me, I prefer this model - indeed for that unique fuel tank - over the following T-20 that appears more bland to my eye. I have the impression that you have collected a very nice cache of lamps, and especially those with a european pedigree make me wonder how you were able to get these as a US citizen? Ebay, through members or did you find them within the States? Regards, Mike
That’s a nice example, @george I replaced the seals and fired up my T10 up for the first time last Friday. It needs a paint but I wanted to confirm it would work first. Two observations- it’s extremely quiet when running, also while the angle of the pump tube may be unusual it is really very practical to use.
@M.Meijer Mike, only two of the UK lanterns came from the States, a 246 Tilley and one of the Bialaddin types the rest came from UK dealers.
@M.Meijer Mike, I've been very lucky with the British lanterns. I got some from eBay (UK). Sometime I had to negotiate for a time with dealer(s) on price. They were very willing to make a deal and work with me. Several of my lanterns were purchased from another collector who really knew a lot about Vapalux/Bialaddin lanterns. I was very lucky. You don't find many of these lanterns over here. A. W. Thacker sold Tilley, and a heating and air conditioning company in Florida sold Bialaddin. Very limited over here.
