Manufactured by Wizard Lighting Systems (Australia) in association with S.A. Alumenite Co

This 1925 catalogue advertises the Model 55 lamp and generator as “NEW”

Wizard Lighting Systems (Australia; 1925) | Classic Pressure Lamps & Heaters

The lamp is stamped with the “S.A. Alumenite Co” logo

I picked up this hollow wire lamp at the last Staffordshire Reef gathering.

It needed cleaning but otherwise in good condition. The globe and retaining ring were missing.

As amazing luck would have it I found a globe on the way home.

I had to make a retaining ring for the globe, shown here Making a globe retaining ring for a Wizard No55 .

The original rings were plated but I’ll leave this reproduction unplaited.

The threads on the original fuel connections are 5/16”x26 TPI (BSB)

The threads on the centre tube fittings and ceiling tube are 1/2” x26 TPI (BSB)

Where did you pick up that long piece of hollow wire?

Nice work. I reckon I have one of those retention clips and never knew what it was for. Now I will have to find where I put it. Your bender seems a good idea.

    Thanks,
    @Tony Press @Sedgman @Conny C @JEFF JOHNSON

EBay, but I can't find it now. It was sold as a connection tube for an aftermarket vacuum or pressure gauge in a vehicle. The fittings are 1/8" but the tube is smaller.

    Thanks @Walkop , @podbros
Yes, I was extremely lucky. It is the only one I have seen in the wild.

It does give a good light. The documentation I have seen is contradictory on its rating. Ranging from 100cp to 400cp. It's fitted with a 300cp mantle in these photos and has no problem filling it.

No, I only have the one lamp and globe.
The guilt I felt for poaching in your area has faded with time
