    Kitson lantern found in pieces in a box at a farm auction in Dumfriesshire.

    This lantern did not have a model number as far as I know. It was however named "BLIZZARD" in 1923 and 1927 adverts. Could be older as well because in 1922 the company name was changed to Kitson Engineering Co. Ltd and this lantern still has KELCo on the logo. I have seen at least one other of these with the same logo and name. Great lantern by the way and a very nice find. Better than the one I don't have anyway. ::Neil::

    Yes mick this is a great lamp i know you got some great stuff but this one and excalibur are my favourites in your collection

    I’d never seen one of these, until today. Spotted in the excellent Dalbeattie Museum in Dumfries & Galloway. The embossed label is on the base of the tank:

    I wonder why Kitson lamps are so popular in Dumfriesshire?
