1962 March Tilley X246A, Chrome

    Another one of my X246A, this one dates March 1962.

    Ive been lucky to get a great looking hood on this one.

    Q. Did your 246A's come with those pumps or have you swapped the original for the earlier 246 style?

    No that is how they came, I have changed nothing.
    Why do you ask?
    Is it because in the reference library, that most have the X246B pump.
    Maybe that how they were sold in Australia.

    The Reference Gallery now has Australian-sold X246As with a variety of pumps from the later X246, leading into different versions of the X246A pump.

    I don't know if it helps, but i have an X246a with that type of pump, a gold painted one...

    You do see a lot of variation on these...different pumps, different control cocks...and they weren't made for a great many years either?

    Thanks gentlemen, Most of the 246A's I have seen have this pump and I have been trying to decide if they were issued with the earlier 246 pump.

    It's brass and half way between the early 246 and the aluminium 246B pump.
