I collected my latest find today, a lovely kildark. It looks to have been modified with a Coleman fuel tap and r55 generator fitted. The burner looks like the original modified to suit the Coleman set up. The filler looks modified as well with a woods type pump fitting. The tank still has some actual petrol in it and plenty of crud. Enjoy the pics
The burner looks right to me for an Evening Star/Kildark but the Coleman valve must have been cut to allow the Akron type burner foot to lock down. It's a shame the correct valve is missing but it will function for sure. These lamps never used an R55 type generator but a Coleman Q99 will fit and Kildark did have a coil type generator which would make it a bit more authentic perhaps. Nice find all the same. ::Neil::
The ball bearing in the filler cap is still a bit manky so I borrowed the valve from my evening star lantern. Using the heating oil I was flushing the tank with, some 500cp butterfly mantels (All I had available) and about 10psi we have light. It is a little beauty, enjoy.
It looks to be running very well and looks great too @James K Congratulations on the fettle of this fine lamp. Cheers Pete
