How? How is this even possible without getting smashed? Wrapped in tissue paper, in a bubble wrap bag inside a thin padded envelope.... and it survived! I'm astounded! £5.91 with free delivery from eBay.
@ColinG Like they say (toned down slightly), poop happens! You're lucky, I bought a Col-Max a while ago and when it arrived the box was beat to hell! It looked like the postal authorities had a bad day or decided to play football with it in the mail room! Anyway, the globe was suppose to be in excellent shape but I figured, not now! When I opened the bashed up box the lantern was bent up but could be fix and the globe, beautiful, all in one piece! Go figure!
I've thanked them for the item and gently suggested that I might buy more IF they put them in boxes! Watch this space.
Unreal. I once ordered 3 phone glass protections, the Chinese seller went trough the trouble of carving a suitable protection out of extruded polystyrene (thick enough, like 2 inches) and the whole thing arrived crushed with all the screens cracked. Btw, does your seller have the elusive 88x105 glass as well (for HK250 and the like)?
I just checked and they don't. They sell: 5cm dia x 4.5cm 8cm dia x 8cm 11cm dia x 11.8cm I wish they sold 12cm dia x 12cm, that would be extremely useful! If anyone can help write a coherent Chinese question that I can send the seller I would be very grateful. I left them a message asking if they could send future glass purchases in a box but I don't think they understood and sent a rather rambling generic reply.
Yup, it appears that the 250HK size isn't very common in China. I just got a Solex C200 and the original glass is cracked. Sadly the Chinese question is far beyond my reach. I ran into the same trouble on ebay and aliexpress, guess we will have to squeeze the maximum out of google translate
