    The burner housing looks like it's similar in style to a Petromax 833:

    Petromax 833 (Tablelamp)

    However I don't see how it could function as a lamp as the fuel inlet is where the mantle should be. Perhaps it is missing parts.

    Look slike it but I always wonder why is it not marked then?
    I think all the german manufacturers where keen on making sure you know who made it, or resell.

    Certainly missing the glass, vapouriser and burner.
    Having looked at ALL the images in the post linked by @James , it doesn't take too much imagination to see that if the plate seen in the second image above were rotated so that holes A and B are in line with the control wheel, the vapouriser would come up through A and the mixing tube comes down through B .

    If the paperwork contains a date at the bottom it might be year 2466 or 66 = 1923 ?
