    This very original TL136 recently came my way. (*Edit: Title changed to 146 after following discussion)

    Nice lamp Steve indeed. Did you light it already?

    Yes, the Tilley number designation for these lamps is a bit confusing.

    I think I’m correct in saying:

    • The pork pie table lamp with the short handle and with a 182 globe is the 146.
    • If it’s got the shade and no globe, it’s the 136.
    • If it’s got the shade, the globe, and top and bottom insect screens it’s the 136/IP.
    • If it’s got no shade, but top and bottom insect screens it’s the 146/IP.
    Cheers

    Tony

    Thanks Tony,

    It does seem to be a bit of a mine field! Perhaps in the future I’ll go with ‘Tilley Porkpie Table Lamp’!
    I’ve hopefully got an original shade lined up for this lamp, just to confuse the thread further....

    What? You’ve got an original shade, I suppose a parchment one? You lucky devil.

    @Jean J

    Noooooo, noooo. I should be so lucky! No, an red/orange shade with the white opaque interior. It’s not in my hands yet, due to restrictions, you know how traumatising that can be!
    So, until the fat lady sings, it’s still in the hopeful category.

    Can I have the shade off your standard lamp, you must be bored with it by now? Hehe...

    @BigStevie

    The best guides to the Tilley minefield are Jim Dick’s book, and @Mackburner’s PLC.

    Cheers

    Stevie, far from being tired of the FS shade I’m on the hunt for another one now. Hint, hint, more later.
