    This is a Tilley AL 10 from around 1935.

    I have restored it without changing any component except the washers, seals, and the glass.

    I must say: this is a great little lamp!

    That's lovely Tony :thumbup:
    I haven't been able to find an elusive rimless AL10, but I also have one of these and it pumps out an impressive light for 150cp! :mrgreen:

    Well I am jealous, how come you found one with a blue hood Tony, were they sold like that?

    Thanks for the comments, folks.

    Jean,

    The blue hood came with it, so I’m convinced they were sold like that. Neil has one with a blue hood here.

    Cheers

    Tony

    That is a really nice thing Tony :thumbup:
    How was it when you acquired it?
    Looks pretty good now :)
    That is a burner I haven’t seen before but this has real Tilley age to it.. The spigot is quite different too

    Do you know any of its history or provenance at all ? :-k

    Great to see it working :)

    @podbros

    It is exactly like I received it, except for cleaning the dust off it, and putting on the mantle and seals.

    It has been in a collection, but was found originally in Australia. I expect it’s a 1930s import.

    Cheers

    Anthony, I included the fuel stained, worn paint that no longer shines like gold. The way the tarnished brass blends in where the paint is chipped or worn away due to years of cleaning. Giving the lamp an overall appearance of its age. Without looking dirty and neglected. :lol:

    Do you think it was used by a railway at all?

    @podbros

    I have no information that sheds light on that question.
