Guys: Resurrecting an ancient 236, (first effort so cut me some slack here), it seems I've got most of it working, but the generator jet at the top of the tube is beyond salvage. The site' oldcolemanparts' had what looked like a new generator, but with shipping it's nearly $50 US. Is there somewhere I can get just that tiny little jet?

I have recently contacted OCP as well and found that sending an email resulted in more information than was apparent on the site.. there are some jets available for the generators but they would know what you need.. you may have to wait a day or two but they will get back to you.. if they can help you, they will.. same as folk here! Hope you find what you’re after
Many thanks Podbros, it I can't find some quick and dirty way of sourcing a jet I'll go that route. Dunno, it could be that Home Hardware sells compatible jets a dime a dozen or something like that. Best to ask.

I don't think any hardware would sell jets, nozzles or gas tips that are close to anything of a Coleman generator jet. They're so tiny and square-shaped. The orifice of a 236 is supposed to be 0.009" or 0.0095" in diametre. The jet's size and thread pitch is #4-48 tpi UNF. Not too long ago, I had a couple of jets made for a 237 in a local machine shop. If you have some other jets available from other lower cp Coleman lanterns, I guess you might be able to enlarge the orifice to the right size. The thread sizes are largely standardized to #4-48 UNF.

I've not been able to find a drill anywhere near that small so far. Maybe I'll just be paying OCP that fifty bucks but I chafe.

Ha! No lie, I was just about to report doing exactly that. Sorta. I took some brake line (the flair is already there), brazed the end solid, drilled a 1/16 hole, inserted a hypo, brazed it tight, and ... slightly too much flow, probably off one gauge.
OCP can help you. Don't be discouraged by the automatic shipping $25. cost. This is just an estimate and you will only be charged the real amount.
If you're interested to add to your toolkit, microdrills ranging from 0.1 to 0.25mm in diameter in 0.01mm increments are available. Those smaller than 0.2mm are somewhat less common and more expensive. I'd say 0.20 to 0.24mm would suffice for most 350-500cp lanterns. They're, needless to say, easy to break.
Micro drills you say. Sheesh how could you possibly *not* break them? That's for me to figure out. Anyway, she's more or less working with the hypo. One further issue, she seems to burn ok, but every few seconds she belches a ball of orange fire as if a drop of unvaporized fuel was getting past the orifice. Hafta say guys this is the most helpful forum I've ever found.
