I haven't been around the forum for quite a while owing to distractions from other big boys' toys but my collection of lamps still seems to be breeding. This latest acquisition was picked up for next to nothing at an antiques centre which clearly does not use the Bay of Evil and was ignorant of the silly prices folk are asking.

OK this is nothing special, just another X246 but it has the most glorious patina of honest use and the winged pump top is a first for me and with an undamaged original glass it was a "must buy". The tank pressurises fine and the vapouriser is as new but unfortunately the burner is completely shot. It has been overheated at some time and on removal the mixing dome crumbled away in my hands. I have a replacement on the way to R100 Towers.

This is one lamp that will be kept in "as is" condition and not restored.

As stated in my OP, this will not be restored. Its patina is far too good to do so. However it will be put into service.

Perhaps I should have been more precise in my previous post as I meant restored to working order only.

If you have a look on the bottom of the tank you may find a date mark, sometimes can be a bit hard to see.

Yes - a great example of a well used lamp. And these were built well I feel.
