    Hi fellas, my AL620, it’s been on my to do list, I’ve had it for a while, original condition, all I’ve done is clean up, a fair few years of working and probably the same sitting in storage.

    I’ve been looking for one of these for years , I’ve kept it as originally found.

    the writing on the lamp reads
    TRACK TEST’RS FAV and a T/T FAV on the shield.
    The cockvalve is alloy, the pump tube is brass, the NRV is alloy, the pump cap and screw collar are alloy. The valve pips are the newer type. The burner is the newer type with one securing pin. Stainless steel mesh air vents. 7E699B3F-166D-48B5-B566-5A18667DC0BB.jpeg

    Well done, @Darryl Durdin

    I wonder what the “FAV” is. Is it just short for the track tester’s favourite lamp or an abbreviation?

    Did you find it in South Australia?

    Cheers

    Tony

    @Tony Press . Hi Tony, it came from the lower SE of SA. Marketplace special. Lucky find either way, the globe has a divit in the top lip, not seen it befor. Do you think the heat deformed the globe where the securing screw is?

    @Darryl Durdin

    Was there a railway line or sea port near where the lamp was found?

    I think the glass came out of the factory like that. The lamp would never get hot enough to reshape the glass.

    Cheers

    Tony

    When I last traveled around down and around the lower SE. There is plenty of local heritage, rail systems, fishing ports, farming all connected by rail. I think it would be safe to say it was a track testers favourite lantern.
