A mixed bag today. Bought a box of pressure and wick lanterns from a local (ish) ad. This 315 had caught my eye as it was in very good condition, with great paintwork, unchipped enamel and a nice transfer. When I got home I changed the vapouriser and control cock washers and fired her up just to see. Even the mantle had survived and she lit up with the fuel still in the tank. I will strip, clean and service properly but these Bialladin never cease to satisfy me with the ease in which they get going again!! By comparison (and some of you will have seen my previous post relating to this) my pork pie Tilley will still not burn properly despite a service and brand new vapouriser!! I'm on the lookout for a new burner now....!!!!! It's Vapalux and Bialladin for me!

@Mr cod, thanks. As it turned out, I basically upgraded some of my collection with items that I got from the seller. A paraffin can replaced one of mine that was dented, a Chalwyn Far East with much less, if any, surface rust and this 315. Of course, the hood being the way it is, I won't be able to use it more than the odd fire up!! So I'll end up keeping the previous that was going to get moved on in order for me to justify getting another..... but these were this chap's father's things so it's been lovely to show them to him working again and having a life elsewhere with a very appreciative new custodian. It's what we do.
