This unfired Bialaddin 300X lamp came with box and instructions that had a date mark of 6/48.

Hello Steve, that was a lucky find!

The Vapalux/Bialaddin lanterns are so robust and reliable and they require very little maintenance, Jeff.

    Hi Jeff
Found this lamp in a shop selling old books in Middleham North Yorkshire around 1994 and it was on the floor, when I enquired about it the Lady in the shop said it had come with a lot of books she had bought at an auction and she had the box and instructions in the house because they were a bit damp when she had got it, even better I thought.

Looked like somebody had tried to light it because of all the residue left in the tank from the paraffin, but when I checked it over the jet was blocked with what looked like solder so guess somebody could not get it to work and so took it back to the shop and got another one and they put it to one side or the owner did and never got it sorted out.
