My latest heater for the collection is a very well looked after Bialaddin Bowl Fire. After a quick once over and replaced the filler plug as somebody must have tried in the past to remove it and took a bit of the paint off at this point. This will be a touch up job for the future. The asbestos wick has been changed for a new kevlar wick and the ceramic tube from Julian Shaw. I was able to give it a fire up. I am very pleased with the heat this distribute. Here are some pictures.

Yes I was lucky approx 2 years ago to purchase some ex mod vapalux brand new spares consisting of new m320 burners, wicks, wick holders, pump handles and rods, and new on /off valves and filler caps. I think the previous owner probably checked there was no paraffin in it before posting it to me hence the graze round the filler area also they had spoilt the pattern through not using any leather to protect the grip doing damage. The vapalux m320 cap was a perfect replacement as I had quite a few unused ones.

 Yes very handy size. I was looking for a Tilley R1 for a bit of nostalgia as a young lad my Grandfather always had one running in cold periods as they only had one small coal fire going and it was quite a draughty wee house. I think he use to have to fettle the tilley fairly often. He was chief engineer on the weaving looms so I suppose he took it in his stride. Have a good week end Jeff.
