    Hi All

I have had this what i think is a TL-10 with corinthian stem for a while now, and was wondering if anyone could help and put a rough date on when it was made? Many thanks.

    Hi @KNIX

unscrew the control tap and measure the depth ; if it is around 20mm then that would mean it is made for the GF control tap (which you have) c. 1939 and after..

if the depth is more like 45mm then it is pre 1940 and has been made for the earlier control tap, the XN type

Sometimes the later 1940’s lamps had a Tilley Hendon decal underneath on the base plate

if I have the dates wrong then I’m sure I will be corrected

    hope that helps

    Hi podbros
when you say unscrew the control tap, do you mean screw the tap off the corinthian stem and measure the length of the threads? many thanks for the reply btw

The whole control cock unscrews from the fluted stem. It should have a rubber washer beneath it.

Measure the depth of the hole the cock screws into.

You have a fine lamp with a not very common Tilley globe.

    Cheers

    Hi
    Sorry, I wasn’t very clear there (

    Thanks Tony!

I think that the burner in the gallery has the early hexagon nuts so that may point to the 1930’s for those bits?

Hi many thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated, i've taken the control cock off and measured and its about 45mm, so from the info above it would be 1930s, both the thread length and the hex nuts on the burner, thanks for the help and kind comments

... By the way, your globe is a Tilley Vitreosil G.9 globe.

    Cheers
