I have come across an Australian ad that very clearly says it has a half mirrored glass for what must be the SDR.
Tilley parts catalogues show an aluminium reflector but doesn't seem to be the same thing.

Does anyone have or has seen a half mirrored glass for the SDR ??

    HHmm cryptic description it is.
I have no idea if a real mirror process, like the normal flat mirror on the wall, will stand the heat.
Besides the fact that it will be darn expensive.
The paper also mentioned a plastic shade for a table lamp ??

I have only seen one example of the half mirror SDR globe which was in poor condition on the prototype SDR but it is mentioned in the 1951 and '52 portable catalogues. And yes Plastic lamp shades through the 1950s and 60s. ::Neil::

Silly me Henry, of course I have one of these but imagined something more like a marbloid(?) one I have which I think is for an Aladdin lamp.
