    Hey all,

    This hadn’t any paint when I got it, and the porcelain was all gone from the shade, but after a little paintwork by me and re-porcelaining by Independence Porcelain & Enamel, as well as new seals, she’s back to kind of new-looking. Original globe; repro globe retainer springs from Base Camp UK.

    Not sure what year this might be from; any ideas are more than welcome!

    Enjoy!

    Ulf.

    Nice restoration,@Ulf.

    If the gallery is original to the lamp, it’s post WWII.

    Is the smoke/heat bell original to the lamp?

    Thanks lads. Tony, yes, I believe that the smoke/heat bell is original, although not ‘ruffled’ like many. It certainly had very equivalent patina and signs of wear to the rest of the lamp.

    What a beauty @Ulf. I assume you won’t be lighting it up? Did the enamelling cost an arm and a leg?

    Thanks Jean! You know, I'm not yet sure if I'll fire it up or not. Probably in time it will become irresistible . . .

    The re-porcelain job, which included sandblasting off the remains of the old coating, prep, and recoating cost $125, with a turnaround time of about 5 weeks. So I thought not too bad.

    It's a splendid lamp!:thumbup::thumbup:

    The heat deflector is not a Tilley product, but it will do the job and the link below shows another IL-47 which is complete with it's original heat deflector and the IL-47 was introduced in 1947 and was marketed for about 10 years.

    Ahh, yes, Jeff. I should have remembered the IL sequence.

    Really a nice looking lamp and could easily see it hanging over a billiard table.
