    These are handsome lamps.

Does your lamp have a Registered Design number stamped on the rim of the tank?

    Cheers

    Thanks, @Steptoe.

I’m sorry now to bother you again. If your Corinthian stem (handle) has a deep deep enough space to take the earlier (longer) XN control cock, that would date your lamp to 1939 or earlier.

If the GF control cock that on it now is original and the stem is only deep enough to take the shorter GF control cock, your lamp dates 1940 to early 1940s.

    Cheers

    Tony

    There are two sizes here.
The larger, as this one is, usually indicates an XN cock.
    But not always.

@Jean J Hi Jean. No I should have to show the difference. I have just to do the lettering on the control valve nob and maybe a Tilley Lamp Decal. Thanknyou for your reply.

@Tony Press Thank you for the info. Not sure unless I take the control valve off again to tell you. It is very useful information. In the event of having to remove the on/off valve at a later date i will check that out..Thank you once again.
