A cream Kayen table lamp is mentioned in this July 1948 ad and is the only mention of it I have found. It would be easy to think this is referring to an early cream Tilley TL106 but it seems they were not made yet in July 1948. This would mean that Kayen did a cream table lamp before Tilley did.
That was a quick paint job! But back to the subject: If the advertisement is correct in that Grif’s was selling “Kayen all brass cream with reflector pressure table lamps” this would have been while Tilley was still manufacturing Pork Pie table lamps… EDIT: Of course it could have been a cream HL4: 1945-50, Kayen HL4 (Nettlefold) Tony
