This is an Agee Pyrex teardrop globe made for TS Nettlefold & Sons (Melbourne, Australia). It is the same size as the Tilley pre-WWII teardrop globe (No. 182, before the "onion" globe was introduced).

I'm not sure of when it was made. I placed it on a Tilley EX93 here.

    Cheers

Very nice Tony, it's the first one I have seen with any identification marking.

Nice one Tony, especially with the clear to see markings.

That is a lovely piece of glass you have there, it must be very rare.
It really completes the lamp you fitted it to.
I love the old Tilley globe's with the shield logo sandblasted on, but this trumps them.
    A great find.

Doing a bit of snooping around I find that this glass was made by Australian Consolidated Industries. ACI.

    And so were these.

Hi mate, are these Nettlefold globes rare? As this thread is 5 years old now, have others poped up?

They are quite uncommon, @Buggerlugs . If you run across any, let me know….

Ok I got one just 3 days ago, it was on an EX4 and I didn't notice until I got home.
I brought it because I thought it was a Tilley shield globe, but when I got home I was cleaning it with methylated spirits and noticed Nettlefold and son. So I did a search and found yours. That's why I asked the question.
I was even happier as it was a Nettlefold globe, which I didn't have one.
    So I'm very happy.

I am, and the price of the EX4 with the globe was a real bargain.
    Thanks.
How many globes do you know of from other members collections?
