Bought this yesterday and got it all wiped down/ spiders removed and such. It is however lacking any markings on the tank with only the glass and the control knob being marked as far as I can tell, would love some extra info as I'm far from an expert on these things! Any bonus tips on cleaning the paint up would also be much appreciated
@PatrickPatrick Your lantern is Tilley X246 made between 1949 and 1954. The glass is newer (“Made in the EEC”). Look through this thread for info on dating these lanterns: First renovation. I can see on the tank where the Tilley model decal was. Cheers Tony
Warm soapy water and a soft cloth is as good as anything, then when dry, some folk polish with car wax.
