Tilley X246 (early)

    Here's a 1st issue (I think??) X246 with the short handle.Picked it up at a swap meet for $60 I've cleaned up the hood and the enamel top was perfect, looking forward to sparking it up.

    That is perfect! I'm jealous... I've got one of Shed Man's brass caps: they are very good. But if you wanted my old (rusty, and formerly orange) cap to use instead of your yellow one, I could post it to you.

    That lantern should clean up very nice.
    Yes its the first X246.
    Like the yellow vent top mine are all orange ones .
