This photo shows my Veritas Superb and it's been lit for well over an hour now! Well done Stu!!! I have it running on paraffin/kerosene, but Stu reckons that the Superb is brighter when a 50/50 mix of Coleman type fuel and paraffin is used and I reckon that he is correct, Jeff.
I fitted an Anchor 500cp., mantle, but it formed a little to far from the vapouriser and I did not have a Veritas Superb globe, so I used an Anchor glass which is the correct diameter, but it's not quite tall enough. It's okay for a test run though, Jeff.
Nice lamp there Jeff. I must admit I like them most with bulgy glass. Does it have the same burner as the 350 armymodel? Veritas 350 Dutch Army Claus C
Hello Claus, the link below shows the Veritas Superb burner. I hope to obtain an actual Veritas Superb globe sometime, Jeff. Veritas Superb 1954
Well I cant see if anything is changed of the inside of the burner, but it sure looks like the 350 burner, mainly so I dont hope you have to worry about the bad rumors. The Veritas 350 (kerosene version) is one of my most reliable lamps - especially in cold weather. But I have heard many bad words about the Superb and I cant figure out what is wrong. Its sad because I really like the look of that lamp and intend to find one - but not if its a nightmare lightning it or keep it running. Claus C
I thought you'd have gone for this one, Jeff - a globe and spares for £9.99 plus some postage. Bargain...
