Tilley EX4

This export lantern was sold in Australia about 1938-1939. This is the second version of this model which has a pressure release on the shoulder of the tank. The earlier version, which I don't have, has the pressure release built into the control cock. These lanterns were replaced about 1940 with model EX100.

These lamps sold as early as 1936 in Australia. They were replaced by the middle of 1940 by the EX100.

 

Just to be clear, the EX4 as a model incorporating two versions sold in the date range stated above.

The early one EX4 with the different control lever assembly came out about 1934.
