There can't be too many of these about, particularly in this condition - it seems to have been test-fired once only and still has a thin layer of factory 'grease' on the tank. It came complete with 2 spare mantles, filter funnel, handle (unfitted), spanner, a spirit bottle (probably from something else), a swing tag and a small sheet of paper extolling the virtues of the Falks Kerosene Blue Flame Cooker. It's different from the Veritas 350 in that it has the pricker mechanism fitted at the top of the vapouriser, next to the burner. It's operated by a thin wire which projects downwards under the globe support. I've never lit it and don't ever intend to...
Yes these are certainly rare. I think I have only seen a couple. I have a rough one here which won't run. Can't remember why right now and I don't intend to go find out any time soon. You are very wise not to run yours. Knowing how well most Veritas lamps perform it could be a huge dissapointment. Nice to see a complete and original one though. ::Neil::
This is a nice find I like old, new lanterns in this condition, cause I had to much lantern in a really bad condition
Neil - I hope its another one you are talking about as I have one too and got it from you mine is all brass and missing the cleaning needle rod and the cleaning needle.
Now you mention it I have it in mind that I had a brown painted example as well. Maybe I did have two. ::Neil::
