Hi all Here is my "lampe foraine" n°4083 from Lilor from 1925 to 193?. I was very puzzled, about this lamp looking at the Liotard/lilor catalogues I own. This lamp is not really represented in any of them. If you closely observe the pictures, you can see that my lamp have a space between the shade and the donut tank. Conny's lamp have the same shape : here ; http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/3220 In this space, we can see the cleaning system mechanism of the burner (here a "bec STA" or STA burner) On the catalogues pages, this is not this lamp which is represented, although, we have a space but it is far more small. I needed to observe closely the texts and I have found this : - The lamp already exists in 1915 (Liotard) and 1920/21/22 (Lilor) with a 3/4 liter tank and no needle (only a filter in the jet) Could be Paul's lamp here : http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/2911 but there are not enough pictures to be sure. - in 1923/24 ; still no needle but a 1 liter donut tank. - We must wait for 1925/26's catalogue to see the cleaning needle system. The catalogue's picture is the same as in 1915 (and will be the same even in 1930). I think the explanation is that they simply have not changed this picture between 1915 and 193? This lamp have been produced until in the 30's but I don't know exactly (no more exists in 1937) This lamp needs the donut tank in order to be finished. I had no round globe, so I have used a Mariva glass. It have held one hour and ....Crac ;-((
Hi Michel, Nice lamp! Agree, often you see catalogue images of lamps for a long period of time; still the same drawing/image even if changes have been made. I think the part between the donut tank and reflector was extended a bit at some time, to make room for the cleaning needle control. /Conny
Thanks guys Yes, very good condition, no rust and good enamel, no brass stress. All Lilor lamps ? hum, still not ;-)
This lamp is intended for outdoor because "Foraine" comes for fairground but I wanted to have a little fun in the spirit of the 30s (houlala;-) As the round globe has not endured the trip, I tried it other finery. What do you think of that
Nah Michel , to me this lamp demands simplicity. Do you think the shade that followed was original by the way? Claus C
I know guys ;-) Even my wife and daughter don't like this. The shades (in fact a shade and a tulip) are originals but not for this lamp
