This lantern. Trade names in ancient times called Red Star (Hunsa). Brightness would be 300 candlepower Made in Germany. Year of production was unclear. May have more information from many people in this Thank you.
Looking at the burner cowls and control knob positions it could almost be a blanchard type copy? pete
Hello juan and pete sav. I'm guessing that the lamp is from Germany. Ever sold in siam(Thailand) because the documents (many years). Ratanamala imported by the document attached. What's more history, please suggest. I am ready to listen. Reverential Thank you.
Hasag made lamps like this which look very much in the Blanchard style. The only way to tell them apart is to look at the burners. I would like to see a shot of this lamp with the cowls removed so we can see the burner unit inside. That should tell us Hasag or Blanchard. ::Neil::
Hello Mackburner I attached several photos for more details of this lamp. I think that burner is very similar to Blanchard. Reverential Thank you.
Think its very very similar to a blanchard burner from the pictures superman very intresting. Couple of pictures of blanchard to compare here Heavyweight Donut cheers pete
Hi pete sav Parts of the lamp is missing the needle cup L. Alcohol and nozzle. Otherwise the samples will be compared with Blanchard. Thank you very much.
The Ratanamala catalogue wrote description for this lamp in Chinese as Germany Lamp. Were there any factory made this Blanchard clone?
Not that I am aware of. Mind you it is possible that some German factory bought in the burners and added their own tanks before exporting them. Oh how I wish for a time machine. ::Neil::
History should be searching and searching. The more research found more clues. Is something to be passionate. Thank you very much.
Just to confuse this even more is a image from some old Primus paperwork that mick has found now this looks blanchard again Apparentely the paperwork was showing what the opposition was selling at the time not sure of a date. I am wondering if this is blanchard is it a pre 1908 version without the pricker rack mecho? cheers pete
It is a Blanchard burner. But as to weather it was made in England or is a copy made in the far east is the question. Your second photo 7041 seems to show another tube next to the vaporizer tube, but it's not clear to see it. A photo showing more of the burner would be helpful. Jim
Another advert from mick this is a german company selling lamps in very much a blanchard type design cheers pete
This is Blanchard burner. Hunsa very similar to Blanchard. but there is a difference. No stamp, and number of manufacture.
