Beautiful Tilley CL 72 Very good condition, beautifully patinated brass. Working well. Shades are reproduction. All parts original I think lamp from 1940's control cocks are GF types.

The lamp is 1930s. It has the deep sockets for the XN cocks. Looks to me that it was fettled in the 1940s with later cocks and galleries. Fantastic find though. This is one of the very few bits of Tilley I have never managed to find. ::Neil::

If I would like to return the lamp to its original. What are the right Galleries and Control cocks?

    That is a fine example!

Any of the XN., control cocks would be correct as the CL-72 was made for quite a while, but the GF., control cocks which you have fitted are fine and the link below shows my CL-72.

The earliest CL-72 lamps would have been fitted with the first type of XN., control cock and the butterfly galleries, but that would have changed as Tilley changed their products and as far as I know those lamps were always fiitted with a filler cap/pressure valve, but a pump will do the job, Jeff.

    1930's, Tilley CL72.
