I did the heat and quench earlier, but I did not clean with a bronze barrel brush. I let it sit in nearly boiling lye solution, then did a heat...
@Dashwood I have done the things you suggested and still got the flaming mantle. All test lights with hood on and long run time on the rapid....
I think it's the vaporizer. Using a torch to heat the B vaporizer caused a blinding white light and nearly eliminated all the halo. It was a windy...
I'll try that today and get back to you.
I see, well thats no good. The Preston loop carburetor arrives on Friday.
Well that's good to know there's probably nothing wrong with my jet or needle. All there is left to do now is wait for the Preston loop. Or put...
I was just testing the jet streams and I probably flooded the carburetor. If this is the case, is there nothing wrong with the jet?
Regarding the leaking jet orifice: it's not detrimental to the function of the lantern is it? It only leaks once the carburetor has gotten hot...
It's not leaking through the threads, it's leaking through the jet orifice while the needle is up once the carburetor is heated sufficiently.
I'll take a look. I think we at least have it narrowed down to the jets. I thought I had 4, but only found 3. The last one had a large burr on...
The new production jet leaks fuel when it's heated. It's shoots up between the needle and jet orifice.
New jet is looking good now. [ATTACH]
The jet stream looks good, doesn't it? Maybe no need to switch to a different jet. Edit: maybe not, sometimes it come out at an angle. [ATTACH]...

@MYN I don't know, I dont have a way of measuring them. The original needles it came with are the same size as the new production needle....
@WimVe I don't see anything in your signature line or profile. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
Yes I've read this document. I printed it out and used it to help rebuild my lantern.
@Dashwood I deep cleaned every part before trying to light it. The inside of the vaporizer looked very clean. I didn't see any carbon deposits.
@WimVe I've got plenty of white gas I can try... I've read that the German army stopped running these lanterns on gas due to safety concerns....
I can still try a different jet (I have 2 extra original jets) and compare stream patterns. I also ordered peerless 111 mantles to see how those...
