He also seems to have a rope ladder! I wonder why?
Maybe he's expecting power cuts?
The 169(?) looks to be in OK condition. A great haul!
Thanks guys. I'd love to find a genuine Nagel Chase burner but the chances aren't great to be honest, but if I get it working I'll be over the moon!
We'll now, things never quite go to plan do they. After spraying the tank 'coppertone' it needed a top coat of fuel proof lacquer. In the past...
I agree as I made my own with two different thread sizes for both types.
I successfully took the ball bearing from a defunct Coleman filler cap/NRV and fitted it to the NC original. Now it needs to be tested.
I have both. The NC had a badly corroded ball bearing but the Coleman has been chewed up on the outside, looks like someone tried to tighten it...
Hmmm actually I might! Good call Marten.
Oooooh, interesting, Myn. I would like one of those!
The filler cap on my Nagel Chase tank had a very rusty ball bearing that was completely corroded in position. I managed to get it out after much...

That looks marvelous! My wife's have done something similar but watching old B&W movies instead.
Thanks Jean. I've been wanting to experiment with this technique for a while to see if it's possible to replicate with a rattle can and it works....
[ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] I decided to try a Coleman style 'coppertone' finish as an experiment. The colours used are copper and dark brown...
Ahhhhh, Old Crafty Hen - one of my current favourite beers along with Old Jock and Champion Ale. I'll definitely save a bottle or two from you!...
They're working well, particularly the Veritas 350. The red hood on the Turner is spectacular! Nice collection.
I've had a Coleman CQ for a while but the tank is split... not just stress cracked! It's been hit hard and the dent caused the metal to rupture......
Although I've used Amish mix in the past, I tend not to do it as much. I figure if a lantern is misbehaving I should sort that out first rather...
If the tank section is sound, it could be painted a pleasant colour, and with a shade if some sort, it would make a nice ornamental lamp.
